Second to Gary Ablett in all-time goal-kicking at Geelong having steered through 837 big ones during his stellar career with the Cats and also kicked 223 with North, a total of 1060.

He played 212 games with Geelong and led the goal-kicking table in 1962, 67 and 69 whilst at the club.

Geelong won his services from Horsham in a fiercely contested battle with Melbourne.

Played in Premiership for Cats in 1963 and North Melbourne in 1975.

Won Best and Fairest in 1969.

Skipper in 1972 before transferring to North as part of an automatic clearance rule for 10-year players in 1973.

Headed Geelong's goal-kicking list 11 times and North Melbourne's three times.

Won VFL goal-kicking four times.

Twice kicked thirteen goals in matches for Geelong.

Strongly built, Wade used his power to great advantage.

Wade's torpedo punts for goal were legendary.
